Idea for a puzzle (Hopefully not too farfetched)
Darth Clinton's (Bill Clinton's) Maze of Debilitating Despair.
Navigate through horrifying corridors with Crab Nicholson by following Darth Clinton's guitar rips.
You hear the sound coming from the left of your speakers/headphones, you type ">Go left" or some extreme variant.
You hear the sound coming from the right of your speakers/headphones, you type ">Go right" or some extreme variant.
So on and so forth.
Eventually you get thrown a curve-ball or two by having both sides filled with noise, only by learning about the true power of rock from Crab Nicholson will you be able to see through the lies of the Sith.
At the end of the maze, you must battle Darth Clinton and his band of Zombie Republicans, but I haven't thought that far ahead.
How's that sound so far?

At least it's fucked up enough, don't know if that thing with the sound control is possible in game maker, cool idea though. How's that sound so far?
If we could make like, a soundboard of jack Nicholson (assumed that Crab Nicholson talks like him), and then manipulate that sound so that it's just like he's talking whilst walking circles around you, that would send shivers through many spines. (Check the virtual barbershop for a general idea of what Richter Bromont and I mean : Virtual Barbershop, pay special attention to the whisper in the ear at 4:17)

Richter Bromont => FUCK YEAH DARTH CLINTON. Sounds neat, keep detailing the puzzle !
Rage => Yeaaaah I thought the game would be ten times more awesome if the game would randomly shout "WOOOO" or "FUCK YEAH" in the voice of Jack Nicholson when Crabby is around, but your idea is creepylicious. That's so in.
Also if this helps, the game already uses a dll that allows not only panning (left-right balance) but also frequency change, so we can have the same sound played at different pitches. That could be useful for other puzzles.

I second the idea of some Crabby SFX. Do we have anyone who could do his voice?

Richter said he sounds like him IRL, but if anyone wants to record it, they're welcome.

You have a great voice for this. But as mentioned by Ortiel, you might want to try speaking more EXTREME.Richter Bromont wrote:http://www.mediafire.com/?ghnmqetfw5eOrteil wrote:Richter said he sounds like him IRL, but if anyone wants to record it, they're welcome.
I think I'll record my own voice, just to see how I compare. I've got a slightly deeper voice.

When I get the house to myself, I'll be as crazy and Nicholson as I can be.
I'm still thinking of a few good puzzles but I have a hangover the size of California.

You could be temporarily blinded somehow, thereby having to navigate purely by sound. It's a good idea if it can be done.

I think the game would be at its best NOT if we have zillions and zillions of items, but several items that are really awesome and have multiple uses around the house.

This reminds me of Zack and Wiki. One of the things I dislike are adventure games where there are many items that only serve one UND PRECISELY ONE purpose. It'd be great to get items that serve multiple (and creative) purposes.

Alright, I got something.
Wait no, I had something.
I got something else now.
A puzzle where you use a string, a spork, a electrical outlet, and the inanimated dead body of Obama Lllama.
Or a Zombie Pirate with a silly name.
Something that progresses the plot.

Re: Idea for a puzzle (Hopefully not too farfetched)
Wait no, I got something better.
Crab Nicholson has busted out two buckets of Hawaiian Punch.
After consuming a sickening amount of awesome fruit juice, you must pee water falls.
So you and Crabby begin to walk down the corridor leading to the bathroom, what Crab Nichol-san didn't tell you, he spiked the punch with copious amounts of hallucinogens.
The corridor begins to shift the further you walk down.
The music plays faster.
The colors begin to flow out irregularly.
You're tripping balls.
The only way to beat this is to piss yourself or drink a towel.
Drink a towel?
Drink a towel.
